Icon of craftsmanship
This piece of furniture has long been design history. Since 1950, the Wishbone - meaning fork leg - chair CH24 has been produced. Over 68 years, it has proven to be a timeless, simultaneously voluminous and almost delicate seating option. At the time, the design by Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) for Carl Hansen & Søn was a real advance, which made it an icon of modern Danish design: Not only were the backrest and armrests made from a single piece of steam-bent wood, but the back legs, with their forward sweep, were a distinctive detail. Wegner created stability with the help of the Y-shaped back and comfort is based on a seat made of 120 meters of hand-woven natural yarn. It takes 100 steps to make a chair.
As if a whole 105 available color and material combinations weren't plenty already, Carl Hansen & Søn offers the chair in eight new special colors. The occasion for the nature-inspired nuances is the 110th anniversary of the Danish company. The edition is limited in edition and time. So if you want to grab a few of these craftsmanship pieces, from Rosy Blush to Midnight Blue, don't hesitate too long. mh
